Presets

The Presets tab is the fastest way to get a mesh moving. Pick a card, click Apply, and the effect plays. Every card is animated, so you can see what a preset does before you apply it.

Applying a preset stamps its recipe (spline shape, timing, the behavior curves, tuning, and assembly settings) into every selected actor:

  • The values are copied into the actor’s own fields and stay fully editable. There is no link back to the preset asset.
  • If an actor already has custom settings, a confirm warns you first; the spline resets to the preset’s shape.
  • Apply works on the whole selection, so one click sets up a room full of props.

Make sure the actor’s deform materials exist first (Generate Deform Materials on the Meshes & Materials tab), then flip Live Preview on to watch the result.

These ship with the plugin under /SplineJuice/Presets/.

PresetWhat it does
Pop In (Spawn)Springs up from nothing, overshoots full size, and settles with a small squash landing. Plays once. The pickup, collectible, and spawn beat.
Grow From GroundSprouts upward from its base and overshoots full size with an elastic settle. Set the actor’s forward axis up the grow direction.
Rain DropsFalls straight from the sky, small at first, then inflates to full size on landing.
OvershootDrops past its rest point, then springs back up to settle, staying upright.
PresetWhat it does
Idle BreatheA slow girth pulse that reads as breathing, for idle props and creatures. Loops.
Wobble (Jello)Sways side to side with a decaying sine, tip more than base, settling toward rest. Loops. Pairs well behind any landing or stop.
Balloon UpSwells outward along its own surface like a balloon, overshoots, then deflates. Corners round off, unlike a plain size change. Loops.
Gulp (Traveling Bulge)A lump swells and rides down the body from base to tip, like a snake swallowing or a throat gulp. Loops.
RumbleA high-frequency shudder that builds, holds taut, then releases with a size pop. The charge-up or about-to-explode beat. Loops.
WhirringA continuous twisting shimmer with a subtle mechanical throb, for machines running in place. Set the actor’s forward axis up the spin axis.
PresetWhat it does
Squash & StretchWinds up tall, pancakes onto the ground, rebounds, and settles. Loops. The squash is always along world up, so any forward axis works.
Bouncy BallsDrops and bounces with decaying height until it settles. The bounce is the Bounce Settle modifier, so you can tune it.
CannonFired forward and slightly up off a tower, then drops to land at rest, like a cannonball.
Follow PathRides a closed-loop path round and round, facing its direction of travel: a patrol route, a circling bird, an orbiting moon. Set the forward axis to the mesh’s nose, then edit the spline to reshape the loop.
PresetWhat it does
Goo Drip (Melt)Sags world-down (the top collapses first) and pools outward at the base, holding the melted pose. Plays once.
Cannon BurstFired like the Cannon, but the mesh shatters into pieces on launch, tumbles through the arc, and reforms whole as it lands. Applying it bakes pieces from the actor’s own static mesh. See Assembly.

Every preset’s detail panel carries an Add Bounce Settle modifier that appends a gravity bounce to the end of the preset’s path. It bakes into the curves when you click Apply.

SettingWhat it does
Bounce CountHow many bounces before it settles.
BouncinessHow much height each bounce keeps from the last.
Bounce HeightHeight of the first bounce.
Physically accurateTimes the bounces with real gravity, so each arc takes the right amount of time.

Tuned a look you want to reuse? Click Save as Template… at the bottom of the Presets tab. Your saved preset shows up in the same gallery as the built-in ones and applies the same way. See Saved Presets (Templates).
